About Us

"Topia" comes from a Greek word meaning place. We chose this name because it reflects how we think about coffee. To us, coffee isn't just a way to wake up or fuel for a tough workday. It's also a way to build community, and to become more connected to the places around you.

That's why we've created a space for relaxation, for conversation, and for comfort. It's also why we keep our menu simple, focusing on the quality of each cup rather than the complexity of the add-ons. Our commitment to our community shows through in our beautiful location, our quality products and services, and our dedication to ethical relationships at all levels – from our relationships with each other and our customers, to our supply chain, and even to the earth.

Topia, both in name and practice, reflects a shift away from high-stress fast coffee shops selling productivity in a cup. We invite you to come visit us, stay a while, and enjoy a refreshing experience.

Our Shop

Topia is housed in the historic Volkshaus building, a formerly overlooked space on McMicken Ave. that has been lovingly renovated by the nonprofit OTR Adopt. The Volkshaus building has transformed into a character-filled modern space while still retaining its original charm.

With a priority on natural light, warmth, and multiple seating options, our goal is to make Topia comfortable for all our guests. Featuring both indoor and outdoor seating, this beautiful building reflects our community's growth and history.
